About Kirra Dance

Here at Kirra dance we aim to provide a fun and relaxed environment for students of all ages and levels to learn and enjoy the art of dance.

Our classes are conveniently located at the Tweed Heads PCYC, just streets from Coolangatta. We have a large mirrored room with excellent and safe waiting areas.

This year we are excited to offer Rhythmic Gymnastics and bring to you a teacher of vast experience and knowledge. We offer many forms of dance including:

Make percussion noises with your feet. This challenging yet fun style will have you aspiring to be Fred Astaire or one of the Tap Dogs!

Jazz dance enhances flexibility, movement and fitness levels. This form of modern dance is a great workout for all levels of ability. This form of modern dance is set to fun and uplifting music.

Classical Ballet

Recommended to help with your technique, posture, strength and discipline, Classical Ballet is a highly stylized form of dance put together with poses and graceful movements.

Cabaret

Jazz dance evolved on Broadway in the 1950s into a new style, which is today called Theatre Jazz or Modern Jazz. A Bob Fossey style of dance, which is influenced in many popular musicals such as Chicago, Sweet Charity and Fame.

Hip Hop originated in the '70s from the Bronx, New York City. It is a street style dance, which is free and funky.

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Rhythmic Gymnastics is an Olympic sport that combines elements of dance and gymnastics Routines will demonstrate leaps, turns, balances and flexibility, while moving and tossing handheld apparatus. These apparatus include Rope, Hoop, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon.

Rhythmic Gymnastics is an exciting sport offering the opportunity to learn coordination, poise, balance and gracefulness as well as flexibility and fitness.
